image image image image Week of August 17th
*Looked at butterfly wings under a microscope with Daddy.
*Caroline and I drew a wing and Jenna taped them in her nature journal.
*Breakfast over Harry Potter 1 (30 minutes)
*copywork
*Crazy math in the hose, which everybody loved. Kids jumped on the trampoline counting by 2s or 6s or 7s and had to hop off the second they got wet(I threw the hose around everywhere). Also had to jump over the hose as they solved problems and retrieve blocks and jewels back and forth (with water hitting them) in 15 seconds. Then had to determine value of what they had collected.
*project time--Caroline would like to have a horseback riding or three. We tried figuring out how much money she would need to earn and how much to charge. She followed a recipe from her cookbook on lemonade.  She also cleaned up and decorated her lemonade stand.
*Jenna built another house on Minecraft, but then came across a Roman texture pack. Now she has plans for a Roman villa and a Roman bathhouse. She also googled Roman outfits and downloaded an interior design app on her phone.
*On Tuesday, Jenna played some violin--Vivaldi, her current song and a bit of her new one.
*About 40 minutes of math
*Project Time:  both girls are building a villa, sometimes helping each other along the way.

"I got it OUT!!" She calls out, relieved.

"GOOD!"  We call back.

We've gotten used to these updates from the bathroom.  But when bowel movements aren't always easy, progress announcements help keep morale high.

Ruby drinks out of the toilet.
Then she licks out of bowls and cups and plates.
Jenna's fish follows my finger and there's a rainbow in its home.

*found this drawing in one of my old notebooks and my transcription of Caroline's words. I would guess she was three or four. :) The "rainbow" came from the sun hitting the water.
