Making a book for Caroline

The great Sunflower project

A quilt to make with Jenna

Our school needs a jolt this week, so plan to do at least one or two of these Think! experiments as a family this week (think the castle, coins and window blinds would be good):

Also for nighttime fun:
this game

the weather report by Jenna and C. using our recorder or phone and a pretend microphone.
Chart with morning temperature and draw a cloud or sun
Ideas for:
  • Have your children describe any clouds they see in the sky.
  • Notice how hard the wind is blowing by how things are moving: leaves rustling, trees bending, etc.
  • Notice the wind’s direction. Where is it coming from?
  • Describe the temperature of the air and/or look it up on a thermometer.
  • Notice any precipitation that you may have this week: sprinkles, rain, mist, sleet, snow, fog, hail
*My ideas to add: a spring report--gathering a few things from the yard that look they are growing or changing as the weather warms up.

*And since the kids LOVE it when I play with them, I will participate in one or more of the following: set up a store (this worked GREAT for the math stuff), a vet office, or another idea that they have.

*Pick out a new bird project and check birdhouses
