Some Ways We've Learned and Played Lately

I bought three different dinosaur kits and took them to Maddox's (he was out of school due to tonsillectomy).  I hid the bricks in the yard for the kids to find and they started chipping away as soon as they found them. The girls squealed as they uncovered bones and tried to identify what kind of dinosaur they had.  They put the models together (with a little help) and then played with them.    We ended up with a T-rex, Stegosaurus and a Triceratops.  They LOVED it.

2.  Camping with friends.

This was a weekend PACKED to the gills with fun.  In less than a 48 hour period, the kids jumped on a giant pillow, played arcade games, rode bikes, played flashlight tag, roasted marshmallows, played Frisbee, swam, played miniature golf, stayed up until midnight, camped and took a cave tour.  All with their best friends.

Bryan and I had just as much fun as the kids did.

3.  Family Night

Family night is back!  Jenna won the first draw and chose to play hide-n-seek, the Ruby game (walk to the woods, fake Ruby out and then sprint back in a futile effort to beat Ruby back to the front yard once she's caught on we aren't following her), followed by watching some of the Hobbit (no pics).  The next week, Caroline chose to have us all play "peoples" in the backyard.  We set up little farms, ended up having tiny fires, which somehow led to us making torches for ourselves.  We came inside at 8:00 and enjoyed some of the delicious cake Caroline made during project time.
